Our Story

Three years ago, our family came to the United States from Japan with our three young children. Everything was new — the language, the culture, and the people.

Our children, who couldn't speak English at first, were surrounded by kindness. Teachers, caregivers and many wonderful people in our community welcomed them with open hearts and helped them grow with confidence and joy.

Through my volunteer work at a memory care facility, I learned that small, thoughtful acts — like cooking with care, offering help, or simply being kind — can make a real difference in someone's day.

Now, we want to give back — to support the health and happiness of everyone who dedicates themselves to caring for others.

We hope that every meal from Good Food Works brings warmth, nourishment, and a gentle reminder to care for yourself and your loved ones.

Hi, I'm Hiromi Sakaguchi, founder of Good Food Works.

When our family moved from Japan to Illinois, we missed the simple, balanced meals that brought comfort to our table.

Although my background was in engineering — far from cooking — I found joy in creating meals that make people smile.

That passion inspired us to start Good Food Works, to share the same warmth and goodness with our new community.

Every dish is made with care and gratitude, offering wholesome and delicious options for everyone — from babies to adults — to enjoy healthy, happy meals every day.
